Corbin Lopez was born and raised in Waco, Texas. He graduated from Lorena High School in 2019 and afterwards he attended McLennan Community College for 2 years, originally looking to study accounting. He then transferred to Texas A&M University, changing his path to Agriculture Economics. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 2024.

During his time in college, Corbin discovered his love for agriculture. He believes that Texas A&M has the best agriculture school in the United States and through that, he became more active in their program through school events and organizations.

After college, Corbin was searching for a way to get into the agriculture industry in Waco, which is how he found out about the Farmer Veteran Coalition. He became interested in FVC after learning more about the mission and how FVC helps Farmer Veterans. His future career aspirations are to stay in the agriculture industry and continue to grow within it.

“I hope to make a positive impact on agriculture and to the people who are in it,” said Corbin. “I want more people to continue to get involved in ag because I believe it is the backbone to our nation.”

Corbin has several family members who have served in the U.S. Army, so he understands how much their service means to this country. He enjoys having the opportunity to help veterans in any way he can.

His hobbies include watching his Aggies play on Saturdays and watching the Chicago Bears on Sundays. He has found that going to the gym is great for exercising and keeping him active. Outdoor wise, he loves to go fishing on the weekends with his family. He also enjoys hanging out with his friends on the weekend and connecting with new people.

The thing he most likes about working at FVC is when he gets to help Farmer Veterans. To him, the best feeling is at the end of a conversation when a member thanks him or tells him that he was helpful. During his time at FVC, he has had instances where he feels that he has made an impact and left someone feeling that they were properly helped.

His favorite moment so far is when he reached out to a FVC member who needed assistance and was able to listen to his needs to get an issue resolved. Afterwards, the member sent a message stating how appreciative they were of his help. The member stated how seldom it was that someone reaches out so quickly to resolve an issue and he was pleasantly surprised when he received Corbin’s phone call.

As Veteran Service Provider, Corbin continues to grow with FVC and is looking forward to getting involved with more programs. He hopes to be able to assist many more Farmer Veterans in need. He believes in the core values that FVC has in helping serve those who have served this country.

“Being given the duty to help veterans in agriculture is a blessing that cannot be understated,” said Corbin.
