Peter Taylor retired after 20 years in the U.S. Navy, including two deployments to Iraq. He and his family operate PJT Farm in Sandpoint, Idaho, managing more than 800 acres where they raise cattle, hogs, chickens and rabbits.
Peter takes pride in raising grass fed quality beef, but also non-GMO grain fed pigs every winter. The pigs are quality meat that is sought after by many locals already. Peter listens to consumers and the local farmers thinking about how he can make a difference to improve the quality of his products.
They farm hay and grains, and are not able to do so without the suggestions and education from local farmers that have been doing this for years. The National Resources Conservation Service (NCRS) also assisted them in sustainable farming to ensure the quality of the soil.
In 2025, Peter was one of five Geared to Give recipients. Kubota awarded Peter a BV4160 PREM round baler, which was delivered by his local Kubota dealer, Coeur d’Alene Tractor.
