"FVC has been of great help to our operation. Last year I was awarded a Kubota RTV Xcrew through the Geared to Give program. They have also opened opportunities like HBH. Their informative monthly newsletters also help."
At Beared Horns Ranch, they raise registered Texas Longhorns. They strive to help improve the breed and keep this iconic animal part of America. They also take the cull animals and provide beef to families.
There are many reasons Kyle got into agriculture. The first being able to provide for his family. With raising cattle, they really never have to worry about meat. He also wanted to provide his children with an opportunity to experience this way of life. Kyle believes that are certain things that have to be done every day and also requires taking care of something other than themselves.
"Farming continues my sense of service by providing food to people, while we are pushing out small amounts of beef we plan to continue to grow and provide for more families as we grow. Being an American farmer carries a great sense of pride as this is the only way people around the world are able to eat. While I’m not providing intercontinental, when all American farmers work together the world is well taken care of. J Frank Dobie wrote a book 'The Longhorns' that explains the history of longhorns and how they pioneered America, being able to continue that gives me a great sense of purpose."
