Farmer Veteran Coalition participates in Giving Tuesday 2022

Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past nine years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. Farmer Veteran Coalition embraced the effort this year and so did our members.  Many of you donated, shared our emails and social media posts with your communities, and some of you got creative!

4Patriots led the way with generous $5,000 donation to match all the donations we received that day. This was helpful in encouraging others to donate throughout the day. You can find and learn more about them at https://4patriots.com/

Three sisters from New York State who call themselves, NY Farm Girls, put in a special effort selling FVC merchandise via social media engagement. On Instagram alone they have close to 150k followers, and shared our message not only on Giving Tuesday, but throughout the month of November. If you aren’t already following them, please do so.

FVC had an exciting day, our collective efforts raised $8,832.40! It was great to see everyone step up to support veterans who are transitioning their careers into the agricultural sector. Nick Flanigan, FVC’s Director of Fund Development led our email campaign and said, “We were surprised and excited with what turned out to be the largest Giving Tuesday total in the history of FVC.  With all the challenges the last couple of years has brought globally, it amazed staff that so many folks make the time and find the resources to support the mission of Farmer Veteran Coalition and work of our farmer veterans.”

If you missed Giving Tuesday, we would still like to include you and would be happy to have you join us. Click here:
