The 2023 Farmer Veteran Fellowship Fund marks another cycle of funding and we will be awarding $500,000 in equipment and supplies this spring! The 2023 application will be going out the first week of January and the deadline to apply is February 14.
The Farmer Veteran Fellowship Fund is a small grant program that provides direct assistance to veterans who are in their beginning years of farming or ranching. The Fellowship Fund does not give money directly to the veteran, but rather to third-party vendors for items the veteran has identified will make a crucial difference in the launch of their farm business. Awards range from $1,000 to $5,000, and nearly $4 million has been awarded to more than 1000 veterans since 2011.
Last year FVC received applications from farmer veterans representing all 5 military branches, 48 states and Guam, and a beautiful array of operations; from cattle, to flowers, to prawns! Again, the Fellowship Fund application will be going out the first week of January and the deadline to apply is February 14, 2023. It is our goal to have all application scores by mid to late March. Award notifications will be made the first week of May.
