This position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.?Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for qualified Ranch Assistant for this Family-owned and operated cattle and hay ranch located in California. The operation is spread across a large geographic area in a remote high-desert environment. The ranch operates with a small crew and runs a practical, no-frills operation using older but functional facilities and equipment.Livestock are handled using low-stress methods, and the operation places a strong emphasis on doing things correctly, safely, and efficiently. Beef cattle are the primary enterprise, with cattle typically marketed as long yearlings, along with sheep and hay production.The owners are seeking a long-term employee who wants steady ranch work and to become a reliable part of a good ranch operation. This position may also be suitable for the right couple, depending on experience and expectations.Primary ResponsibilitiesDaily care of cattle and sheep, including feeding, watering, and monitoring animal healthWorking and processing livestock (sorting, branding, and general handling)Fence repair and construction, including braces, gates, and limited new fence lineMaintenance of ranch buildings, corrals, and propertyOperation of ranch equipment including tractors, front-end loaders, backhoes, pickups, and ATVsIrrigation of pasture and hay groundHaying and general farming activitiesGeneral ranch duties as neededQualificationsHonest, dependable, and hard-workingSelf-starter capable of working independentlyGood Ranch background preferredExperience operating and maintaining farm/ranch equipmentMechanical aptitude preferred; welding experience preferredWilling to listen, take instruction, and apply experienceLooking for a long-term, full-time ranch employee??BENEFITS:?House, Utilities, Simple IRA??ALL INQUIRIES ARE KEPT CONFIDENTIAL.
