With a customer-first mindset, we make doing business with McCain easy. About the role.The Packaging Lead provides direction to employees in the packaging department/area.  Monitors and ensures accurate pack size and cases labeling.  Collects data and communicates any problems or changes in production or quality to the supervisor and appropriate personnel.  Operates food packaging machine and related equipment as needed.  Assists Packaging Supervisor in other related duties. What you’ll be doing.Promotes and adheres to company safety work rules and regulations.Operates packaging machine and related equipment as needed.Makes constant walk-through of the area.Monitors and encourages personnel to ensure good manufacturing practices.Lead may fill in for supervisor when gone.Performs machine preventative maintenance checks, diagnostic checks, and routine adjustments on equipment as needed.Orders packaging material from storage as needed.Performs standardized product tests.Communicate and assists packaging employees.Ensures proper case sizing/labeling.Ensures packaging employees are trained properly and timely.Records packaging machinery efficiencies and downtime.Monitors line flow to packaging.Cleans packaging machines as needed.Attends and participates in all annual, departmental, and job specific required training and monthly informational meetings.Communicates any problems or changes in production or quality to supervisor and appropriate personnel.Understands and adheres to the concepts and techniques of the quality process in order to ensure a quality operation.Keeps area clean and orderly in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).Helps to build and promote a strong “Teamwork” environment in each individual work group, the Factory, and the Company.Participates in continuous improvement process.Must adhere to the McCain Code of Conduct. What you’ll need to be successful.High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Benefits of the role.McCain offers full benefits including health, vision, and dental insurance.
