Job DescriptionUtility/Packer – Blakely, GAThis is a full time, hourly position- Shift will rotate days and nights and can vary 8, 10, and 12 hour shifts.Position SummaryThe Packer position is responsible for filling and stacking material into bags, sacks or boxes of product.Job Responsibilities: Sets up packer with correct information to fill and seal bags according to scheduleStacks bags and ensures that they are the correct weight with correct informationAssembles, fills, samples and hauls totes or super sacks and ensures that they are the correct weight with the correct informationTakes magnet samples and delivers to labCleans bins, legs, conveyors, Sweep, dumper and packer and fills out proper documentationSets up jet printers with correct informationOperates control panel boardPerforms daily housekeeping list and cleans pack areaCleans, prepares and loads bulk trailersFollows all safety, GMP, plant rules and policiesOther duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or Plant ManagerAble to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, work in confined spaces, fast paced work and janitorial workEducation/Training: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organizationAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphsAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
