Job DescriptionARTCo New Orleans Shipyard is looking for an experienced electrician to perform all electrical preventative maintenance, including new installations, and repair of electrical equipment at the shipyard, on fleet boats, stevedoring rigs, and in the office. This position will report to Shipyard Management while receiving daily duties from the Lead Electrician.Job duties are outlined below:Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using hand tools and power toolsDiagnose malfunctioning systems, control circuits, electrical apparatus and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of the breakdown and correct the problemConnect wires to circuit breakers, transformers or other componentsInspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repairAdvise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardousTest electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures using testing devices such as ohmmeters or voltmeters to ensure compatibility and safety of systemPlan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures based on job specificationsUse a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment such as ammeters, voltmeters, ohmmeters and test lampsInstalls new wiring, conduit and a variety of electrical equipmentPerform small IT problem-solving for colleagues on-siteOther duties as assignedCandidate will spend much of his/her day afoot and will occasionally work from elevated surfaces or near water.#IncludingYouDiversity, equity, inclusion and belonging are cornerstones of ADM's efforts to continue innovating, driving growth, and delivering outstanding performance.
