With a customer-first mindset, we make doing business with McCain easy.  About the role. McCain Foods is accepting applications for an Industrial Mechanic position, to work a 12-hour shift at the Burley, Idaho plant. (These are NIGHT shift roles.) Plant maintenance is responsible for performing a variety of general maintenance duties and mechanical repairs to operate, repair, adjust, install, rebuild, and fabricate various types of machinery and systems for the factory.  What you’ll be doing.  Performs functions that require precise calculations and measurements. Communicates with equipment users to assess problem areas. Examines and evaluates problem areas and determines and initiates appropriate action. Communicate decisions concerning solutions with appropriate personnel. Must have the ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Must have ability to effectively present information before groups of customers or employees. Must have ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  What you’ll need to be successful.  Education required: 1 year certificate from college or technical school and 2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Understanding, knowledge, and basic skills with welding, industrial mechanics, electronics, electrical, and plumbing. Packaging maintenance experience is preferred. Prior experience in a potato processing facility is a plus. Plumbing, welding, and electrical repairs; using technical tools, instruments, and other materials to operate, repair, adjust, install, rebuild and fabricate various types of machinery and systems for the factory. Utilizes diverse degrees of various technical skills, such as general maintenance, plumbing, welding and electrical/electronic skills. Assists and learns to perform maintenance work as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor or the shift Lead Maintenance Mechanic to assist with repair and adjustment of processing equipment, changing and replacing belts, sprockets, bearings, chains, motors, pumps, etc. while following proper safety practices. Assists with setting up and operating lathe, mill, drill press, grinder, and other tools to make and repair parts. Assists with lubricating and maintaining machine tools and equipment. Performs welding functions, including Stick, Tig, and Mig. Benefits of the role. Hourly rate: $30.66 $1.50 shift differential for graveyard positions.  Set schedule for entire calendar year  Paid Holidays  Paid Time Off  Health, vision, and dental insurance premiums are 100% paid by McCain Foods for employees, spouse, and qualifying dependents  401k with employer match  HSA  Adoption Assistance  Infertility Assistance  Education Reimbursement Assistance  Paid Maternity and Paternity Leave About McCain Click Here to learn more about McCain and how we provide you with opportunities to make an impact that matters.  Leadership principles. At McCain, our leadership principles guide how we engage with customers, collaborate as a team, and achieve success.
