Job DescriptionOperator Trainee – Reserve, LAKey Responsibilities and Duties:These duties encompass overseeing operational efficiency, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, maintaining accurate records and effectively communicating with various stakeholders within the organization.Training to oversee all operations related to unloading, ensuring operating efficiency and maintaining commodity quality, including Specialty Grain & By-product Procedures.Training to develop a comprehensive understanding of all plant rules, procedures, and practices.Training to ensure a safe work environment for all employees by promoting and enforcing plant rules, procedures, and practices.Attend monthly safety meetings to stay informed and contribute to safety initiatives. Attend or lead daily safety toolbox meetings.Familiarize oneself with the employee handbook to adhere to company policies.Training to understand and comply with all operating permits such as air and water quality, fleeting, weighing, etc.Training to be responsible for filling out facility permits including hot work, compressed air, confined space entry, confined space entry, grain storage structure entry, lockout/tagout, etc.Training to maintain proper fleeting (arrangement and movement) of barges. If unsure of fleet requirements, ask for assistance from the Superintendent.Training to supervise the unloading of barges and rail cars, checking weights and comparing them to origin weights if available. Notifying the shift superintendent of any discrepancies.Training to coordinate the ordering of barges/rail and release of empties, communicating any concerns to the Plant Superintendent or traffic department regarding deliveries or fleet management.Training to bin grain as directed by the shift superintendent, considering quality, toxin levels, etc.Training to keep complete records of all unloaded commodities and update the inventory system accordingly throughout the shift. Ensure re-examinations are conducted as needed and complete status reports accurately, with house soundings 530AM/PM (updated ELS and Bin Board) completed with mix and additional unloads 0700.Training to maintain an updated board with storage bin information including new commodities and grades.Training to directly communicate any operational problems to the shift superintendent for timely resolution.Training to relay all pertinent rail information to the Railroad, both inbound and outbound.Training to prioritize unloading shipping bins whenever possible.Training to ensure barge unload times adhere to advised billed weights (all barge unloads should be completed within an average of 45-55,000 bushels per hour; notify the outside supervisor if discrepancies occur).Training to complete all required paperwork accurately and daily.Participate actively in morning safety meetings to discuss safety issues and strategies.Request shift superintendent to review any daily required paperwork prior to sending off.ADM requires the successful completion of a background check.REF:106897BR#IncludingYouDiversity, equity, inclusion and belonging are cornerstones of ADM's efforts to continue innovating, driving growth, and delivering outstanding performance.
