Community bank in north central Iowa seeks a growth-minded Ag Loan Officer. Requires individual with strong track record in ag sales and solid understanding of ag operations. Charged with building and managing a high-quality ag loan portfolio while building trusted relationships with producers, ag businesses and landowners.
Duties include:
Proactively source, develop, and close new ag lending opportunities through field visits, farm calls, agribusiness events, and referral networks.
Structure credit solutions for operating lines, equipment, livestock, real estate, and facility improvements tailored to farm cycles and risk profiles.
Gather financials, analyze repayment capacity, collateral, and market conditions; prepare credit memos; and present recommendations.
Maintain ongoing contact with borrowers, monitor loan performance, and support renewals, modifications, and cross-sell opportunities.
Represent the bank at local ag events, FFA/4-H, extension meetings, and commodity groups to deepen brand presence and trust.
Adhere to policy, regulatory requirements, and prudent credit administration.
Requirements:
3-7 years in agricultural product sales or agribusiness development required.
Proven success generating and closing business in ag-related products or services (e.g., seed, feed, equipment, inputs, precision ag, or insurance).
Demonstrated success in pipeline management, territory development, objective/goal achievement.
Practical understanding of crop and livestock operations, input costs, yields, and risk management.
Ability to speak the language of producers and tailor solutions to farm realities.
Bachelor?s degree preferred (Agribusiness, Ag Economics, Business, Finance, or related) or equivalent experience.
