Job DescriptionShutdown Planner – Quincy, ILThis is a permanent, full-time, exempt-level position located on-site at our Quincy, IL processing site.Job SummaryThe execution of plant shutdowns is a complex and critical component of the facility lifecycle.As a Shutdown Planner, you will be responsible for transforming work orders into detailed, executable job packages. These packages will include step-by-step job plans (man-hours and durations), location/plot plans, marked-up photos and drawings, and applicable specifications, all designed to minimize ambiguity and maximize efficiency during execution.A well-developed plan is the foundation of every successful shutdown. In this role, you will review work orders identified within the shutdown scope, perform field walkdowns, develop comprehensive plans, and support execution through to completion. You will also serve as a key point of contact for field personnel, acting as the job representative during execution.The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter who prioritizes safety, thrives in fast-paced environments, demonstrates strong leadership capabilities, and communicates effectively across teams.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop detailed job plans, including labor requirements, sequencing, and duration estimatesBuild the foundation of the shutdown schedule based on job scope and resource needsCoordinate Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS) across multiple crafts and disciplinesIntegrate maintenance, operations, and engineering activities into a cohesive shutdown planConduct field walkdowns to validate scope, identify constraints, and refine plansCapture and document lessons learned throughout all phases of the shutdownCollaborate with the Shutdown Manager to develop and execute resource plansOrder, track, receive, and stage materials required for shutdown activitiesProvide field coordination and oversight during execution to ensure plans are followedRequired QualificationsMinimum of 5 years of maintenance planning experience in a manufacturing or industrial environmentDemonstrated experience using Maximo or SAP PM for planning and schedulingStrong organizational and time management skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsAbility to travel to manufacturing facilities as needed Excited about this role but don't think you meet every requirement listed?
