This role partners with stakeholders and key suppliers to align category priorities, leveraging strong market insight and relationship management to influence outcomes. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the Senior Buyer drives category strategy execution and ensures adoption of procurement best practices. This role also strengthens team capability through continuous improvement initiatives.Key AccountabilitiesLead end-to-end execution of complex regional sourcing strategies and eventsDevelop and execute category strategies aligned to business and stakeholder prioritiesBuild deep expertise in regional spend, supply markets, and stakeholder landscapeInfluence and align cross-functional stakeholders and key suppliers to drive outcomesManage strategic supplier relationships to deliver value (cost, innovation, sustainability, performance)Drive business continuity through proactive supply and risk mitigation planningLead contract strategy, negotiations, and supplier performance managementAnalyze market and spend data to inform sourcing decisions and recommendationsOperate independently to resolve complex procurement challengesChampion continuous improvement and adoption of procurement best practicesProvide coaching and guidance to Associate and Professional Buyers, delegate tactical work as appropriateContribute to broader team and category planning, insights, and executionIndependently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.Other duties as assignedThis position could be located from a Cargill office in Wayzata, MN or Wichita, KS.QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in a related field OR equivalent experienceMinimum of four years of related work experiencePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience in Parts or Equipment sourcingExperience with SAPCompensation DataThe expected salary for this position is $110,000-$135,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.At Cargill we put people first.
