The AFD Manager, Logistics is responsible for leading a large – scale, 24/7 fuel distribution operation supporting multiple cooperative partners. This role provides oversight of transportation, inventory management, and logistics planning, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable delivery across a complex network of terminals and assets. The position leads supervisors and logistics teams focused on optimized delivery execution, operational performance, and continuous improvement. The Manager also plays a key role in safety leadership, compliance, and operational strategy, while partnering with account management to support business development and customer needs. This role is ideal for a dynamic leader who thrives in a fast – paced environment and can balance strategic thinking with hands – on operational leadership. Responsibilities Lead driver and fleet operations to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable transportation services
Support Supervisors with the recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and developing of drivers and logistics staff; support cross – training as needed
Assign drivers and equipment to meet daily delivery demands and resolve operational issues
Promote safety, regulatory compliance, and adherence to company policies across all transportation activities
Coordinate fleet maintenance, repairs, and equipment servicing with internal teams and external vendors
Oversee billing, invoicing, and documentation to ensure accurate customer billing and driver pay
Manage operational financials, including payroll support, cost control, and profitability
Partner with internal teams to manage fuel inventory and support bulk plant operations
Support onboarding of new customer accounts, including operational planning, staffing, equipment, and technology setup
Collaborate with Account Managers on customer transitions and business development initiative Minimum Qualifications (required)High School diploma or GED4+ years of experience in Supply Chain and Procurement and/or Transportation and LogisticsPrior leadership experience with progressively advancing level of leadership responsibilitiesAdditional Qualifications Proven experience managing drivers, equipment, and 24/7 or multi – site operations
Strong working knowledge of DOT regulations, safety compliance, and hazardous materials transportation
Financial acumen, including budgeting, cost control, billing/invoicing, and P&L responsibility
Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across operations, sales/account management, and customers
Experience in fuel, energy, bulk commodities, or regulated industries a plus CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions.
