Job Title: Agricultural Field Manager (Direct Hire) Location: Clayton, DE (Regional travel required) Salary: $70,000 – $75,000 per year Term: Full-Time, Permanent (Day 1) About the OpportunitySynergy Employment Group has partnered with a leading regional leader in the food processing and vegetable production industry to find a dedicated Agricultural Field Manager. This is a Direct Hire position, meaning you're a permanent employee of our client partner from day one. This role is the critical link between the processing facility and our network of contracted growers. If you have "boots on the ground" experience in farming, soil management, or pesticide application and are looking to transition into a management role with a stable, established organization, we want to hear from you. The Role & EnvironmentAs a Field Manager, you will spend your time in the fields and on the road, acting as the primary point of contact for multiple farmers across the Delmarva region. You will coordinate complex planting and harvest schedules to ensure the highest quality crops reach the facility. Seasonality: This role follows the natural rhythm of the harvest. During Peak Season (July – Mid-November), you will work up to 80 hours per week with a schedule dictated by crop needs.The Trade-Off: From November to March, the schedule returns to a standard 40-hour week, providing a much-needed balance after the harvest push. Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate planting and harvest schedules with growers within a 60-mile radius of Clayton, DE.Conduct daily field inspections, walking crops to monitor growth and health.Provide technical guidance to farmers regarding soil health and crop progress.Ensure all field operations meet strict food safety and regulatory standards.Maintain accurate records and schedules using basic computer applications. Qualifications & RequirementsPractical Experience: A strong background in hands-on farming, commercial landscaping, crop production, or professional pesticide/fertilizer application.Education: An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field is a plus, but significant professional experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.Licensing: You must be willing to work toward obtaining a Nutrient Management Consultant License, a CCA (Certified Crop Advisor) credential, and a Commercial Pesticide Applicator License (company-supported training provided).Physicality: Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather and stand/walk for extended periods.Travel: Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel daily to regional growers.
