Job DescriptionElectrical Engineer – Decatur, ILThis is a permanent, full-time, exempt-level position.Position SummaryWe are looking for an enthusiastic Electrical Engineer to join our North American Electrical team.In this role, you will support electrical system studies and learn how to analyze power distribution systems. You will gain hands on experience with short-circuit studies, arc flash analysis, load flow, motor starting, and harmonic studies under the guidance of experienced engineers.This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates to grow technical skills, work on real-world electrical projects, and contribute to safe and reliable plant operations.What You'll DoWork with senior engineers to review and update single-line diagrams and SKM electrical modelsAssist in conducting electrical studies to include load flow, fault current analysis, motor start analysis and Harmonic analysis to evaluate system performance and the impact of changes on system dynamicsLearn how to review arc flash reports and electrical models to ensure compliance with industry standards (IEEE 1584, NFPA 70E)Support plants in remediating overdutied equipment issuesHelp perform load flow and related studies to inform design decisions, guided by IEEE standardsContribute to maintaining and improving study guidelines and technical manualsTake part in developing and updating our electrical safety programReview engineering packages with mentorship to ensure compliance with scope and good engineering practicesGain experience in guiding contractors and vendors on modeling guidelines and quality expectationsRequired QualificationsA Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Preferred Qualifications Basic knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and interest in learning IEEE standards and NFPA 70EFamiliarity with common electrical drawings and documentation (single-line diagrams, panel schedules, schematics, etc.)-coursework experience is fineStrong written and verbal communication skillsInterest in learning about power system modeling softwareCommitment to safety in all workProblem-solving mindset and eagerness to learnAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamOrganized and able to manage multiple tasksPositive, proactive, and motivated to grow in your careerExcited about this role but don't think you meet every requirement listed?
