For more information please visit www.andersonsinc.com.Position SummaryThis position is responsible for leading all aspects of port terminal operations ensuring safe efficient and compliant handling of commodities. This position will oversee daily operations including vessel rail barge and truck logistics while driving performance in safety productivity cost management and customer experience. Key ResponsibilitiesLead daily port terminal operations ensuring scheduling and throughput efficiencyLead facility safety programs to drive and ensure compliance with OSHA DOT EPA USCG and company policiesEstablish and execute our feed ingredient rail unloading and vessel loading programDevelop and maintain strong relationships with the Port and Coast Guard ensuring our facility consistently remains in full compliance with all regulationsEstablish and maintain strong relationships with third party resources including staffing agencies contractors and logistics partnersEstablish and drive daily operational goals for the location leveraging clear and consistent communicationsCollaborate on budgetary and capital plans through a team approach along with the Director of Operations and Profit Center ManagerProject and develop a strategic 3 ? 5 year capital plan for facilityEnsure facility maintenance is being planned and completed in a disciplined time frame both preventative and long termMonitor and track the logistics flows and processing of grain to ensure the facility is maximizing profitability and minimizing shrinkDrive continuous training and development of direct reports and monitor the training and development of teams reporting up through your direct reportsReport and analyze the financial impact of all facility operations in your businessWhat is Expected of You and Others at This LevelProvides leadership to managers supervisors and/or professional staffIs accountable for the performance and results of multiple related unitsDevelop departmental plans including business production and/or organizational prioritiesControls resources and policy formation in area of responsibilityDecisions are guided by resource availability and functional objectivesCompetencies Expected of You and Others at This Level?Balances Stakeholders – Anticipating and balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders?Business Insight – Applying knowledge of business and the marketplace to advance the organization's goals?Organizational Savvy – Maneuvering comfortably through complex policy process and people-related organizational objectives?Manages Ambiguity – Operating effectively even when things are not certain and the way forward is not clear?Drives Results – Consistently achieving results even under tough circumstances?Education and ExperienceBachelor?s Degree required Master?s Degree preferred7-10 years? relevant experience requiredExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail?Excellent written and verbal communication skills?Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software?Experience in terminal or grain export operations preferredFamiliarity with rail and barge logistics preferredCapital project exposure and leadership requiredPhysical Requirements and Working EnvironmentProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computerMust be able to stand for an extended period of timeAbility to frequently lift/push/pull up to 75 poundsMust be able to climb/stoop/kneel at heights up to 180 feetWorks indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and temperaturesWorking conditions could include dust fumes moderate noise and uneven surfaces?May require extended hours and on-call support to support the 24/7 operationThis job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed.
